On Tuesday 8th February 2022, Year 1 were looking at ways to stay safe online as part of their Internet Safety Day activities. They looked at how avatars can allow us to show we are online but don’t let anyone see what we look like. They designed an avatar they could use and then thought about what usernames would be safe to use.
Year 1 have been exploring the properties of materials. Last week they planned an experiment to test which materials are waterproof. On Tuesday 8th February 2022 they tested them! They had to use the same amount of water each time to make sure the test was fair. Then they recorded their results. They discovered that tin foil and plastic bags are waterproof, cotton wool is absorbent and fabric is not waterproof.
