French Pancake Day

The French celebrate pancake day on the 2nd February each year.  It marks the end of Candlemas and the pancake symbolises the return of the sun.  The tradition in France is to hold a gold coin in your left hand whilst flipping your pancake with the right, if you land your pancake successfully it will bring you luck!
No pancakes were flipped, but the microwave was super busy last week as the whole of the school enjoyed pancakes at some point.  KS1 enjoyed theirs as dessert on Monday, whilst KS2 had to order theirs in French!
